Some Churches have a Recovery program. We are the recovery program that is also the Church

The Church of

Brotherly Love

Philadelphia

The Oxford Group called itself a first century Christian Fellowship. It did not set out to become a church. It’s founder had been involved with DL Moody’s Northfield conferences as a seminarian and later when he led a home for boy in a suburb of Philadelphia. After he quit the boy’s home work, he went to Keswick England and got changed by the message of the Cross.

He used the method of conversion he learned at the Keswick conferences to change others when he returned to America and became the YMCA Secretary at Penn State University.

Still later at Oxford England, he used he is methods to raise up evangelistic teams which traveled the world bringing revial to whole nations. They called themselves a First-Century Christian Fellowship and World Changers.

Their methods were adopted by alcoholics in the U.S. and became A.A.

We use this same model for bringing change to those who wish to reckon themselves to be dead.

     1. Admission of our total depravity and need for a savior.

     2. Surrender to Jesus.

     3. Repent. Confess all sin.

     4. Make Amends.

     5. Develop a conscious contact with God, becoming willing to

To be led by the Holy Spirit and to only do His will.

     6. Carry our experience of God to others to whom God leads us.

           Or simply.

       A. Trust God

       B. Clean house

       C. Help others.
